Taskmaster

Taskmaster is a fictional character from the Marvel universe usually shown as an anti -hero. He has the ability to absorb knowledge instantly which is linked to his muscle memory allowing Taskmaster to replicate the physical movement of other people. Only the movement not the powers. With the ability to copy someones moves just from seeing it in action one time taskmaster is one of the best martial artists in the marvel universe. He is simply awesome. Taskmaster has seen Captain America use many different shield attacks gaining the ability to use the shield just as effectively, copied the swordsman abilities of the Silver Samurai, and has the same accuracy as hawkeye. Taskmaster can even fight with the same moves of IronFist who is a superhero who dedicated his life to martial arts. Taskmaster has been seen in many different superhero comics fighting many heroes and villains. Although Taskmaster is only human he is well capable of fighting other super humans such as spider-man who can kill a human with one punch, daredevil, and Electra the worlds deadliest assassin. Im completely impressed by this characters exploits in the marvel universe. He is definitely one of my favorite characters besides Captain America and obviously deadpool. Taskmaster has trained his body to human perfection being fast enough to dodge bullets no problem. Not many superheroes can beat him in a hand to hand fight. To be able to copy someone elses moves from just witnessing it in action is impressive.

Favorite Fight scene

This has got to be one of the BEST martial arts fight scenes i have ever seen. I mean not only is it soooooo brutal but the martial arts displayed has both traditional and modern martial arts moves displayed. This video comes from the movie "Raid Redemption" a foreign movie from Indonesia. It is possibly one of the best movies i have ever seen for just plain old fashion kung fu action and not a complicated plot. Even street fighting moves are shown as displayed in the lack of techniques in some of the punches thrown adding bit of a sense of realistic element to the fight scene. In my honest opinion what makes this fight very entertaining to watch is the counters. Notice how the short man (Mad Dog) takes on the brothers and counters just about every move they have when it seems like they have gained the upper-hand.  Even the brothers have amazing counters as seen when they pull mad dog down when he was about to jump into an attack against the other brother.  Elements of muay thai and judo are shown all throughout this film. The elbows thrown are flawless and well timed. The brutality of this fight also adds to the excitement. The brothers teamwork in this video which allowed them to finally gain control of the fight and win is another element as to why i love this video. Its as if they're the perfect tag team. Their moves fall in sync with each other.  No one is holding back and they throw every punch with the intention to kill or immobilize the opponent. There are just too many reasons as to why I absolutely Love this fight and chose it as my favorite fight scene. Whoever has worked on the choreography for this film has done an fantastic job and may be one of my favorite fight scene movie choreographers besides Zack Snyder.

The Grandmaster

Last Sunday i have seen the "Grand master" movie and i was really impressed. It was very different from i originally thought it was but still it doesn't disappoint. the movie follows the wing chun martial arts master Ip Man. Ip Man  is known for popularizing the art of wing chun and training the world renowned Bruce Lee. It was more of a movie based on the life of the martial artist rather than a simple movie that showcases insane choreographed martial arts skills. This movie also portrays Gong Err a daughter of a martial arts master from the "north" who gives up everything to seek a path of vengeance against the man who took her fathers life. Although it was more about the life of the martial artist similar to an biography this movie does account for its promise of great martial arts scenes. Each martial art shown here is displayed gracefully but very forceful and destructive. Its very exaggerated as Ip man sends grown men flying from one hit and that will most likely never happen in real life from punches and kicks. I do recommend that people do see this movie however. My favorite fight scene is the fight between Ip man and the beautiful Gong Err. That fight shows Ip Man going all out although eventually losing he let Gong Err win.

Traditional Martial artist vs Mixed Martial arts

Mixed Martial arts

Traditional Martial Arts
Traditional Martial Arts
I know this has been placed before but i want to cover this topic myself. Its always been known that practicing multiple styles of different martial arts is better than one traditional martial arts style. Of course an mixed martial artist or mma for short who trained for three years fight against an martial artist with three years of traditional martial arts then of course the mma fighter wins. Yet if the traditional fighter had a decades worth of training and the other fighter had the same amount can he defeat the mma fighter? can the one technique defeat the other composed different effective styles? of course your not going to do actual martial arts form in a real fight. I mean trained in the cultural martial  arts for combat. Bruce Lee has been known to only use wing chun before he developed the philosophy that  multipe martial arts is better than one going on to make Jeet kune do. He was a very effective fighter when learning wing chun winning almost all of his fights in fact with that  one style. TO be an effective martial atist does it depend on the martial art or the martial artist?

Martial Arts Effectiveness in Real Life

Martial Arts has been apart of human history for hundreds or thousands of years used for many benefits of health. Yet every time someone gains an interest in training for martial arts the common question you hear as a martial artist is “Can martial arts be used in real life?”.  Honestly yes i believe so but of course there are limits. Despite what you see in the movies training hard in martial arts will not give you the ability to fight 10 unarmed men and beat them all under 3 minutes. Yet if ever caught in a street fight in which self defense is necessary of course training in martial arts helps improve the chances of winning the coming fight and succeed in defending oneself. Sure a street fight is a different situation than MMA fight as there are no reals but that can play to your benefit as well. In order for martial arts to be effective in real life you must train  for a certain number of years as only having a few months of training isn’t enough to implement the muscle memory in a fight or to  apply learned techniques you probably don’t remember. I found that jujitsu and judo techniques work well as you can easily incapacitate an opponent by a double leg take down on hard concrete. Even Law enforcement officials and military officers use some form of traditional martial arts in their training today. Training in martial arts also develops the physical abilities of a martial artist such as the speed of punches. SO i do believe martial arts is real effective in real life is used correctly and with enough years and dedication to training martial arts can be used effectively in real life.
