Judo Kickboxing

Judo kickboxing is kind of a new martial art that i am training in as a beginner. I absolutely love it though. we spent months training on grappling first as my master placed importance on handling myself on the ground as he said 98% of all fights lead to the ground. SO he thought it important to fight on the ground first. Founded in 2002 by Eric Castanos and Carlos Finales. They are 2 black belt martial artist and one of them being a great Muay Thai fighter pooled together to create this amazing art. We fight and hope to publicize the martial art in order to have others get the oppurtunity to use this effective martial art.

Keysi Style Method

So a few days ago I was watching Batman the Dark knight movie. I was watching the scene where he takes down a bunch of police officers while tracking the joker down. There was one thing i noticed about the fighting style..i didn't recognize it. well not that i didn't recognize it but i gained a very strong curiosity as to what style Nolan decided to have Christian Bale use as Batman. So i looked it up and found out it was the Keysi fighting style method which is pretty funny to me. I never have even heard of it. I looked it up and it seems quite interesting. Its quick dirty and brutal and very fast paced. it barely uses kicks with a nearly identical thought with Bruce Lee who behaved kicks higher than the waist were inefficient as it leaves you vulnerable in a fight.  It incorporates alot of techniques and precision from other fighting styles. instead of straight punches it uses hammer fists which in my opinion hurts a hell of a lot more. the fighting stance seems pretty simple to me. the hands are clasped with the elbows raised to protect the head and chest. Its very effective and dangerous. Within a few years of training you can turn your body into a weapon. In my opinion its able to compete with krav maga in terms of danger.

Anderson Silva's Downfall

On Saturday at UFC 168 Anderson Silva challenged the new middleweight champion Chris Weidman to rematch after losing his title. During the fight the Brazilian legend broke his leg while attempting a low kick at Weidman breaking his leg after Weidman Checked it. Silva is one of my favorite fighters and its very disheartening to see him gain an injury like this. Do not get the wrong idea. Broken bones are expected when playing this combat sport and becoming a martial artist. I just think that it was unfortunate that his leg broke due to some bad incident rather than in an actual fight which would be acceptable. When i saw the fight his whole shin just collapsed under his skin. I was surprised!!!! I didnt expect the great Silva to fall like that. When i saw the replay i think his leg broke from the force of the kick before it even made contact with Weidman's shin although that is speculation so i would not go with that theory. Silva was taken in for surgery by the UFC Surgeons and will be taken care of. Most likely he's gonna be out for months before getting in the octagon again. Silva will probably go through some type of physical theraspy. I hope he'll be coming back and this injury will not have a lasting effect on my favorite fighter.
